It's been awhile
I haven't been much into blogging lately. Here's what we've been up to.
The kids and I have been to a couple of "school" plays. Oystein started prepping our backyard for the new deck he and my bil, Kevin are putting in in June. I planted some flowers in the front yard. Nathan has 4 baseball games this week. I'll be missing tonight's though because I am sick. I went on a one day scrapbook retreat with my friend Jennifer. That was a blast and I got a lot done! Hmm...what else? Doctor check ups and dentist, too. Cleaning the house with some help from a friend.
Alex had an allergy doctor appointment a few weeks ago. It was so amazing to watch the spot where milk was tested NOT get huge. There was a tiny spot, smaller then the histamine. What does that mean? There is a good chance that Alex has outgrown her milk allergy. Right now we are giving her foods with milk cooked in them. In June, I'll make an appointment for her to take an in-office challenge. She'll go into the doctor's office and be given straight milk. If she doesn't react, well...I don't even want to think of the excitement of that!!! We'll have to have a "milk party" if she passes.

Chicken Pox
Last night we went to Claim Jumper for their Alderwood Little League night. As we were standing in line to put our name on the list Nathan said he shoulder was really itchy. I looked and started to take him outside. On our way out we ran into someone we know who is a school principal. I asked her to look at Nathan's spots with me. Yup, it sure looks like chicken pox.
Nathan had the vaccine when he was one and he had a very mild case of chicken pox when he was 2 1/2 when Alex had chicken pox. She hadn't had the vaccine yet so of course, her case was worse then Nathan's however, it wasn't horrible. She had a good amount on her but she wasn't fussy and didn't run a fever that I remember. Actually, I remember her being just fine but I guess with the bad excema she was used to being itchy. Her main nutrition source was breast milk so the immunities in that helped her case also.
Anyway, Nathan's case now is mild. We counted about 12 spots. We believe he got his first one on Monday because he was claiming his back was itchy. He showed it to me but it was a small red spot at the time and I just assumed it was a bug bite or something like that. He's pretty scabbed over now but he has a couple of spots I'm going to watch. At this time they don't look bad but I'll check in the morning.

The Pioneer Farm
Pictures from our Pioneer Farm trip. We had a blast! The kids cleaned laundry, dressed up, worked as a blacksmith, took a wagon ride, shaved bark off a tree trunk, sat in a school room, made hand dipped candles and did a bunch of other fun stuff. We highly recommend this trip!
